• Hello! Thanks for checking out our site. We are a group of AP English students and our concern is the overuse of plastic bottles at Los Alamitos High School. The large amount of plastic that is used really hurts our environment, so our goal is to reduce this waste. Thanks for helping out!

Plastic Around Campus

There is an overuse of plastic bottles around our school.

After meeting with the food cart sellers around campus, we learned that about 45 plastic water bottles are sold at each cart per lunch period. More bottles are also sold before school and during nutrition period.
Because there are no recycling bins around campus, students will throw their plastic bottles into the regular trash. Custodians have been seen going through these trash bins and separating the plastic bottles.
